Thanks to Tami Rachels from Oak Grove Middle for this contribution to the School Library Month series. Beverly Cleary is turning 100 next week and in The Washington Post it states that she wants a "celebratory slice of carrot cake, she says, "because I like it."" We will celebrate her birthday and honor our staff by inviting our staff to join us in the media center for a "celebratory slice of carrot cake" on April 12th! Click here for the Washington Post article. We are also working on an activity for "National Jelly Bean Day" on April 22nd. Our hope is to create a work of art using Jelly Beans to decorate our school logo, the Grizzly. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we can make this one work!
